I agree to a certain degree with you on all that but honestly round faces just should NOT have certain haircuts-they arent flattering.I work in a professional environment and like to look a certain way-although gaining this weight mde me feel less about my appearance I do know not to get that short sassy haircut I want just yet-much like I know not to go try to squish my size 20 butt into a size 12 pant-lol.

yeah Ive wondered the same thing on sizes-Im 5'3 and at 214 I wore a 20/22 but I see others with basicly same stats wearing 18-I wished-if I wore an 18 id look squished in and itd define my rolls-lol.I am also top heavy-even before all my weight gain my chest is a 42dd now its a 46dd-ugh-but my doctor will finally sign off to have reduction once I lose the weight as its a health issue with my back and such.

Cute haircut is a must too once you lose the weight, new look requires a new do.., I just had my hair cut short last week, I have a new do and it is so stylish, looks great with my thin face and my new body, and it is so easy to keep up.

I COMPLETELY agree with Vinesqueen. Go get that hair doo now, life is way too short to stop living. I know there are certain things that can't be done. but there is sooo much you can do. I tell myself and friends ok anyone who will listen that it's a good thing I am overweight, otherwise all the men would want me!! Not to mention, when I get skinny I will be sooo cute, I won't be able to stand myself. I waited years to get a stylish haircut, and thought I was not small enough to wear cute clothes. Did you know, cute clothes come in "fat chick" sizes too. Now I dress cute and very in style, and have everything except the skinny jeans. That too will come, sooner now that I am banded. I have lost 24 lbs and feel better already. maybe just knowing my time is coming.

For years I worked hard dieting excer. and nothing helped, now I literally have the "power within" My day will come, but until then

"look out skinny girls, here I come and I will be cutier than you"

Get you hair styled now! see how great it fills, it may give you the power you will need to get thru the hard times to come with this whole pre & post op.

PS that old saying that you need a hairstyle to fit your face, some skinny chick made that up, its crap do what you want!

I can't wait to buy clothes and not just shoes. Fat girls love their shoes, don't they? I've got more clogs than Nordstroms carries. It's ridiculous!

I can totally relate to the haircut dilemma. The year I became a nurse 1995, I got a really short cute haircut. My mom told me I looked like a linebacker on a football team. I never did that again!

How about fitting in an airplane seat?

How about not having everyone look at you on an airplane as you go down the aisle with a look that says "please do not have the seat next to me!"?

How about the seat belt fitting without having to ask the airline attendent for a seat belt extention?

How about grocery shopping without everyone looking at your purchases and frowning??? Or worse yet making comments?????

How about no more mean "fat" comments from young children, teenagers, strangers, "so-called" friends, family....EVERYONE?

How about being able to sit in a lawn chair without the fear of breaking it?

(that has actually happened to me, I was mordified!!!)

How about being able to wear high heels without excruciating (sp.) pain?

The list is endless......

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
