Holy COW...I just hugged my knees...

Recommended Posts

You know the way skinny people sit...where they pull their knees up to their chest and then put their arms around them...I can do it too!!!

And...it's really comfy...no wonder the skinny folk like it so much.

That's great. I also can't wait until I can cross my legs. Crouching down for long periods hurts as well. You go girl!!!!!!! It's amazing the things we can do once we have lost those extra pounds.:blushing:

Isn't this fun?!?

My breakthrough was when I could finally do "happy baby" without my stomach getting in the way!

Just call me "Gumby".

I squated down to teach my granddaughter how to play jacks the other day, and realized I was not hurting anywhere doing it---nor was I tri-podded using my belly for balance!!! It might not have really been that way, but it sure felt that way!!!

I am amazed at how limber I really am without all the extra bulk in the way......so is DH!!!!

:crying:I remember pre-kids when I had lost a bunch of weight from Jenny Craig. I could finally cross my legs and found myself doing it always. AHHHHHHHHHH to be at that point again.

Another thing I have found myself able to do that I love is pull my leg up, like the original poster mentioned...but I can do that and do my own pedicure. I can paint my nails, and even do it neatly!!!!

HAAAAAA that's funny! I have been procrastinating on my pedicure for that reason only. I hate doing them on my own and with kids home from school havn't been able to go in. You Go!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
