I had my Lap Band surgery on Monday. Was discharged from the hospital yesterday. I have been having problems since. Every now and then 2-3 times per hour I will have these about 2-4 second episode where I will feel a pressure in my stomach and then a sensation of it rising up into my throat, can be very discomforting Its not like throwing up. Sometime just changing my body possition can start several in a row. Anyone have any ideas?

I've only been sipping Water an a few ounces of Protein drink

Thanks

:)

I'm no doctor - but could be gas - are you taking anything for gas - get some gas x strips... If it continues you should call your doc.

I am fairly confident it is gas. I have the same thing--had my surgery on the 23rd. Starts in stomach, rises to the throat and is a sharp pain. But I can hear a gurgling sometimes, so I know its gas.

I have heard the gas often does not go away for up to 7 days.

Hi. I had a similar issue when I first had surgery. Some of it was gas trapped inside so move as much possible and the other was what I was drinking. I'm 8 months out now and have just begun to be able to stomach cold Water again. You may want to try drinking room temperature water or the opposite of what you are currently doing. I hope this helps.

Best,

Aimee
