lap band slippage

hi I was wondering how one would know if their lap band slipped. I have vomited quite a bit and I am always afraid my band will slip. Everytime after I vomit or pb I wonder if my band slipped, so I was wondering would I feel it, would I know?? thanks!!

In most cases, one would know. Slippage often presents with very overt symptoms, such as repeated vomiting, the inability to keep even liquids down, choking/aspirating in the night, even pain. This is not the case always, as it is possible to have slippage which isn't as problematic or hasn't yet reached those stages. Often slippage is found by xray only.

Scottygirl, how often do you PB? How long ago did you have your band? PBing more then once a week is not good, cronic Pbing or vomiting can result in slippage if your band has not anchored in or healed properley and set in place. . I have heard from my doctor that one sign of slippage will be not being able to keep anything down liquids or solids, vomiting anytime anything is ingested. This is just what I have been told by my doctor, you will get various replies.

I used to pb several times a day. Now about every other day. I have had my band for 10 weeks.

I was also scared of the same thing after my first fill. I was vomiting and pbing all the time. I called my doctor right away and went to see him, I was unfilled and within a few days I was fine. I would always call my doctor to be sure.
