Crab cakes anyone???

Recommended Posts

Every crab cake I have ever had is loaded with butter or some kind of grease. I would imagine it would upset your stomach, but honestly I don't know.

Startingover,

Have a thing for crab cakes too and crab dip and I remember not being able to tolerate them when I was too tight. I know there are many ways to make them etc... so I'm sure you can come up with a healthy version that suits you. I've gotten them at the Outback Steakhouse before and they were really good but otherwise I have to buy them frozen from Phillips. I guess if Proteins are allowed you should be fine. You can always just eat a portion and save the rest for later. Nanook:smile:

Hey

I've made my own crab cakes and haven't had any problem with being able to digest them or worry about whats in them. I simply purchase a container of lump crab meat and make it myself.

It's very simple

1-12 oz container of lump crab meat (drain liquid)

1/4 cup diced onion, green pepper, red pepper

10 no-salt ritz crackers (finely crush)

1 egg

pinch salt, black pepper, ground red pepper ( I also like to use cajan seasoning)

Mix all together, shape into small cakes

bake in 350 perheat oven until golden brown.

enjoy!!!!

thank you so much for the recipe. I love crab cakes also but they are so expensive when you buy them premade.

of ALL the Proteins out there, crab seems to be the easiest to digest and the best tolerated for me. This is what I often order if I go out to eat. It's on many appetizer menus, and is just the right amount. I seem to lose faster with ingestion of shellfish for some reason as well. We have a crab boil at the house about once a month, since we live on the coast. I could sit and pick crab for hours. I love it. I make my own crabcakes and bake them. I spray my baking pan with PAM. They are not quite as good baked, but still delicious. My recipe?

1 cup picked crab meat

2 tbls. finely chopped green onions and bell pepper

sprinkle of parsley

2 tbls. fat free mayo

2 tsp. worchestershire sauce

1/2 cup ritz crackers crushed fine

dash of cayanne pepper

1 beaten egg

gently pat into round balls and then flatten on sprayed cookie sheet. Bake for about 15 - 20 minutes on 350. YUMMMMMM

The crab cake appetizer from Ruby Tuesday's was my first post-op solid meal when I was done with liquids & mushies. It was wonderful and I was able to eat about 1/2 before feeling stuffed. I was very excited hehe.

I have had the crab shells that are stuffed since then and I have had no problems as long as I eat it slow.

I LOVE crab cakes and they go down easily for me. Like anything, try a little first and go from there. :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
