Saying goodbye to my bad eating habits

Recommended Posts

I know this is only May 8th and my surgery is May 26th but I am leaving Tuesday May 10 for Ecuador. On my way home on the 17th, I need to start my pre-op diet. So I am saying good bye to my old way of life and preparing for the new journey of my life. Since I am adventurous, I think this will provide me oodles of new opportunities.

For dinner, I made a t-bone and spinach salad (spinach, purple cabbage, leek, mushrooms, Tomato with balsamic vinegar). After a couple of bites of the t-bone, I gave most of it to my beloved dalmation, melted some gargonzola cheese on the rest, added fresh chives and fresh ground pepper and enjoyed just a couple of bites of 'gourmet' steak.

I love to experiment and try cooking new things but I think I have gotten too caught up in just eating lately. Only eating a couple of bites will force me to think about how I would best enjoy those bites.

I feel like I'm starting a new relationship - and I am - only it will be with food. Has anyone else felt this way? Am I just an old foodie looking for a new fix?

I think we all have to re-establish a relationship with food. From getting away worrying about eating to worrying about what we are eating. I know I have too and it is hard right now. But we'll make it.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
