Ok this is weird, I have an indention right at my port incision. Certain ways I move cause pain. I was banded 2 weeks ago today, and this is the first time I noticed this. It must have happened this morning, or sometime in the night, cause it wasnt there yesterday. So, does anyone know if this is normal, the indention is about the size of a large grape, maybe bigger. When I stand you can see it. When I sit you really cant. Most the fat just buldges out. Do I have a possible flipped port? Please need help. I did call my doc.

I am 6 months out and the area of the port stitches are sunken it. It only hurts now if I bang that area on my desk or if I put on too tight jeans, but back in the beginning it used to bother me a lot.

I am about 4.5 weeks out. Last week my port insicion dented in, then a day or two later, at my port. I am assuming my shape will keep changing & once the fat is gone around it, it will no longer look dented. It already looks less dramatic than last week.

I'm "dented" too! I'm only a few weeks post-op but there are no red flags I see to worry about. Probably just part of the healing process. By all means, though, if you're concerned, call your doc!

My suture area below my port is also dented. I just thought it had to do with the doc suturing too tightly, lol. My port actually bulges out some and I can feel it when I push around the bulge. I feel kind of assured that I can feel it because I can tell the my port hasn't flipped or something. Two weeks after surgery I thought that was where my band was until my swelling went down enough for me to determine that it was my port, lol.

Kinda off subject, but, everyone has lost a good bit of weight since they were banded. Man, Ive only lost 22lbs, and are going up and down. I see everyones tickers, and wonder, HOW!!! I know some of you are about 30 days post op. How are you keeping it off? Let me know..

My denting is almost completely gone.

Like I have said before, our bodies will go through a lot of changes by the time we are done losing weight.

Worry about dents & bulging ports at the end, if you still have them then.

Until then, just consider your funky shape as part of the process.

i was banded may 23 and have only lost 17 or so, way less than you have. i am trying not to compare myself to others, especially since i have a thyroid condition, but it is hard to be patient.

i have my first fill on monday and hope to get some restriction, as i have little to none right now.

good luck to you!

leslier041906,

DOnt try to compare yourself to others. I know that it is hard but we all having varing other issues that may increase or speed up weightloss in the beginning.

Like me, I have jaw surgery and can really only do liquids and just started mushies. This will keep me steady loosing with or without restriction. In addition I have not had regular food since 4/29. So try not to compare and do what is best for you always.

Good luck, I know that you can do it and the weight will come off.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
