:thumbup:My name is Vanessa and this is my first post on this site. I have been wanting the lap band since 2004 and it looks like the wait is over :biggrin2: . I will have to self pay and Dr Wagner will be my surgeon. We just got back the good news on the financing and I will be going the seminar again tomorrow night. I hope to have surgery by mid late July. My husband is supportive but extremely nervous. I told him that if something went wrong, then it was my time. I would rather go trying to get better than to die because I got bigger

This will be the best money you ever spent. Every morning I get up and one of my first thoughts is - yeah! I won't be hungry again today.

The hunger tiger in the commercials is a mere house cat compared to how hungry I was all the time. Now none!

I am sure your husband is aprehensive, but you will be just fine. I had no problems, not even any gas. I really believe in positive thoughts, so send some out there and you will get them back.

This has been the craziest week. I can't believe I got everything done

financing approved: Mon morning

seminar was: Tues night

consult with Dr Wagner was: Wed evening

psych eval and clearance was: Thurs night

medical clearance, EKG, blood work was: Fri morning

I start my PRE-OP diet on 7/3/08 and then banded on 7/11. Somebody pinch me. I have been trying to make this happen since I first heard about gastric bypass in 2002 and then the band in 2004. I know that losing the weight and keeping it off will be a slow and steady process and I am ready to start the journey to a longer better healthier life with my DH and our 3 boys.
