Had a fill and feel looser than before?

Recommended Posts

I had slight fill last Wednesday, and my band actually feels looser than before I went in. Has anyone had this happen? I'm confused and frustrated. Fills cost me $150 each time, plus time off of work, which isn't easy for me to take.

I read your question about your band is not helping as much as before your fill. I just posted a question about the same circumstance. The Dr. said I was still swollen from surgery, so maybe the swelling went down. I will be checking to see if you get a responses.

yes, it happened to me too. i went in for my very first fill and i felt more hungry after the fill than i had before it. i even gained 6 pounds the first week after my first fill.

i called my surgeon right away and went back the next week for another fill. fortunately, my fills are covered for the first 2 years so it's easier for me.

I had my first fill June 5th, and had the same thing. I feel like I'm more hungry and can eat more than before. I have maintained my weight, but not lost any more. This is upsetting because I was doing so well before the fill. I get another fill on July 3rd. I might call to see if I can get in sooner. Not sure whats up with this. I hope the next fill "fills" me!!

I had a fill once and completely lost all my saline. I think it's possible that they miss the port. My dr. always pulls it out to see what is left in there.

Then when he went to add that back plus more, he must have lost contact with the port. I went back and he pulled the needle back and said "you have no saline in there" that was when I said "that's exactly what I told you!" I was not charged for another fill when I went back.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
