Tell us about your summer NSVs

:thumbup:I squeeled so loud that my manager came running from the front of the store thinking something bad had happened! hehehe when I told her we both jumped for joy for me!

I am so happy I have made this life changing decision. I never would have pictured me enjoying the outdoors in the summer but I have lived it up so far and there is so much more to come! :)

Congratulations!! Isn't it funny how it seems so much more real when you have someone to Celebrate WITH you?! ENJOY that employee discount...but maybe you should consider moving to Hot Topic, where the clothes are smaller?! You'll be out of the plus sizes before you know it!

I ran my first race today !

I started working out when I got the band almost one year ago, slowly increasing my workouts in terms of intensity, duration and frequency. In mid june I joined a "learn to run class" at the gym (that was an NSV) Today August 9th 2008, one week shy of my bandiversary I ran my first 5k race.

It was the most hills I've tackled when running, and I was aiming to finish in under 45 minutes, I crossed the finish line at 42:30.

I was so pumped, you'd think I won the olympics! .

Bear in mind that the fastest runner did it in just over 15 minutes, but I dont think they could have been any more pleased with their performance than I was with mine.

I love my band

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
