I just arrived in Chicago---the flight attendant asked me to "tighten my seatbelt"!!! WHAT?! Apparently leaving it stretched out as far as it goes isn't safe now. I had space between me and the man seated beside me on the plane. Imagine, no touching strangers any more! More importantly, I took a shower and the towel fit all the way around when I got out!!! No exposed areas, no peeking breasts, all covered! Amazing how much more comfortable things can be with small changes! I'm still a little nervous to go out to meals with my colleagues in case I get stuck, but thinking about getting some tea to prepare myself first....no one knows I've had surgery. One of the things I did before coming was to check out the fitness room. Who would have thought?! AND, I made extra room for workout clothes. (Smaller clothes take up less space in my suitcase, too!) YES, I took out a few blouses to make room for workout clothes!!!! OH, my....and no one else would understand but you guys!!!!!!! I couldn't wait to sign on to my computer to check in!!! Have a great weekend.

Cerrin, I know the feeling...I've had dates with two guys in the past month because of my new found confidence. This is so cool! I didn't think of that being an NSV, what was I thinking. My last date prior to this was a blind date 5 years ago.

Isnt it awsome to feel comfortable enough to go out on a date again.

And In my opinion...I think having more then one with different people is awsome that means I am not settling for that jerk that just wanted sex. lol Granted I miss sex but geesh after 4 1/2 years I can wait a little longer...TMI right? sorry

But still I want to meet someone I like...and likes me, and go from there.

:biggrin2:

Oh and I would LOVE to show off the picture of the guy I have a date with this weekend. HOT HOT HOT:drool:

Do you have a picture, because I'd like to see! I haven't been on a date in over a year, but now, I just don't even want to until I'm at or near goal. My hormones are normally in overdrive, but now boys are the last thing on my mind. Haha it's weird.

Anyway, yes, pictures.

I'm not sure I know how either . . . so I'm testing here . . .

See the paper clip up to the right of the smiley face in the reply box when it opens? it opens a browse box . . . and I selected the pic I want . . . and hit "upload" . . . and we'll see if you see me and my Alaska crab when I submit this reply.

It worked . . .and if you double click the thumbnail . . . you get a bigger version . . good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
