Getting my band on May 26th

Finally after months of thinking, waiting, testing I am on the schedule May 26th.

I am also in Chicago. Who is doing your surgery? What hospital are you going too? I am waiting on insurance to make their decision. I am using Dr. Horgen at UIC. Best of luck to you~Mandy

Hi Everyone,

My date is June 6. I just heard on Friday afternoon that my insurance denied the surgery. I have Aetna and I live in New Jersey. Has anyone else ran into this problem? I don't know that I should do now!!

To be fair I was about 20 lbs less there but make no mistake BMI over 30 is no joke I had heart surgery when I was a kid for a valve repair. For me I can honestly say I'm doing this for my health more than looks. When I became a dad I now understand I have a lot to live for.

What a blessing that little boy has been (mom's & dad's understand).
