Don't forget. Your estrogen and hormones have been stored in your fat cells. They are disappeariing, so your hormone levels will be in flux for a while. It's my undertanding they level out after a while. Make sure you're getting enough nutrients and plenty of exercise and sleep. Fatigue can do nasty things to a person. Stess is another sabatour of romance. Offer to give eachother a massage. Relax and see where it goes..... I have the opposite problem. Mine is off the charts, but I'm having issues with my hubby's new found interest......

Hi,

Have you begun any new medications in the time since your surgery? I was on an anti-depressant (Lexapro) that completely killed my sex drive.

just my depo shot which i have been on for the better part of 10 years so maybe the combo of that with the surgery is doing it

Gilliebean, I'm in the same boat. I was ALWAYS more into sex then my DH before being banded but now I couldn't care less most times and HE is the one who is into it more now. Part of me doesn't want to explore the desires because, to tell the truth, my dark fear is that in the future I might do something I might regret. Mostly, tho, I feel that my hormones are just down and that's ok. Most of my resources are going into myself making me a better person. I'm enjoying that for once in my life. Sexual desire I've felt many times but I've never enjoyed my changes as much as I do now so I think I'll just keep enjoying them. I'm sure sooner or later my desire will come back.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
