Sapphire904 1 Posted June 21, 2008 Is it possible for something to get stuck in the stoma and still actually be able to eat other foods? I ate a bagel the other day and haven't felt right since. Coincidence? I don't have any sliming or anything like that. Curious! Thanks for any help.:confused2:
VegasGrace 1 Posted June 21, 2008 Yes, it's possible. Funny thing, you'll find greater weightloss when that happens. Let me explain. A food item that you eat that goes down and lingers...and lingers...and lingers.... you will get full faster and eat less. This has happened to me a few times over the past year. Corn dogs! They do it everytime! I remember the first instance this happened. I had a corn dog one day. Was full for the rest of the day and then the next day I didn't eat as much, but still ate. The 3rd day I drank alot of liquids and felt sick...woosie. I slimed up...the corn dog chunk! {the other foods went down} Had a corn dog last month {forgot about what happened before} and the same thing happened. A day or so later I slimed it up. So, it's possible it's taking a very, very long time to digets the bread. Either drink really fast to bring it up or just let a few more days pass to break it down. Good luck! Sapphire904 1 Posted June 21, 2008 As far as eating that bagel?? Yes, it was a moment of insanity - first bagel I had since my surgery in March. Yes, it definitely will be the last time too! I had my second fill two weeks ago and am still learning about being banded and adjusted because until the other day I didn't feel any different. I will return to mushies and my Protein Shakes for a few days and see if that helps. Thank you both for your words of wisdom.
