I have to share with everyone what happened to me this past weekend. I had my first fill on June 10th and still no difference in my eating or feeling full in other words I'm still not feeling anything from being banded. Well Sunday Father's Day my hubby requested a sandwich and some Soup from a restraunt so I picked up our dinner and began to eat. I was about 1/2 way through my sandwich when I just stopped, I lost my appetite completly. I thought ok this is weird so around 10pm when I usually get hungry again still nothing not hungry. So I got all excited and thought "this is it " its working/ its working /finally its working -yes:thumbup:- yes -:thumbup:yes! So I was going to post about my new success but I decided to wait. So then, 3am I wake up with the squirts :whatchutalkingaboutand I mean like Water. So 6am same thing then I got nervous went to the doctor. Turns out my sudden loss of appetite was due to a case of food poisoning.LOL:cursing: Well things are getting back to normal, still a little sensitive stomach. I am still not getting anything really from my fill 2ccs I am hungry and eating normal like before and still waiting for that "amazing moment" that I get full off a little food. I did drop a couple of pounds from being sick that I am trying hard to keep off:biggrin:

Well, maybe the bathroom episodes will make the scale move!! I have had 1 fill too and feel that all of my success has been due to my own discipline and good food choices. I go for another fill on Monday... I can't wait!!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
