A bit more realistic goal than that of my latest challenge.

19 pounds in 2 1/2 mo.

I should be shedding the pounds quick. I am closing on my house this upcoming friday and will have PLENTY of work to do. I have to demo an out building and construct a new Man-Cave! AHHH, at last--- I have designed a 16'x20' workshop! I am planning on building it myself!

185 is my goal weight. Actually, my doctor told me that he would be thrilled for me to be at 200. I can tell that I'm getting close because my weightloss has really slowed down. For me anything below 200 is what I want to see.

TX,

Have fun building that workshop. My hubby's cave is in the basement where he has his office. He finished that basement before he touched the rest of the house when we moved in. He calls it his cave, we call it The Dungeon!! :biggrin2:

I am sooooo happy. I made my goal (176.5) only one day late on the last challenge. That makes a total of 50 pounds down!!!! Yeehaw!!!

Congrats, Lindata!!

I've got 1 pound to go before I hit 50. That pound just does not want to come off!

I'll kick it off eventually! :crying:

I hope joining this challenge will help re-motivate me. I am being a bit ambitious with wanting to lose 20lbs, but with School ending this week:w00t: and having more time this summer (I am not teaching summer school this year ) I can re-dedicate myself to eating the bandster way and exercising at least 4 days a week.

I hope we all make our Goals.

PS. How do you upload pictures on Lap band talk?

Not sure what goal to post???? Didn't make the last challenge goal. Struggling to achieve good restriction so hunger is a problem. Only bright spot is I am walking fairly regularly.

Having my next fill ( July 3rd) with floro, so maybe that will help. Guess I'll wait until then to determine a goal for this challenge.

Great to finally take a minute to check in and see how everyone is doing.

Sades,

I will just be happy to join you in Onederland! :grouphug:

"So close and yet so far"

I started lighter than you Cindy, so my achievement isn't much of an achievement. I look forward to the day that you can say you have hit onederland... not long to go now.

Hey Shortgal, I just noticed our appointments for testing the band are the same day. Hopefully neither of us will have a serious problem. We could be the odd ones who need more than 9cc to reach our "sweet spot".

Marie, I'm happy to join you getting back on track. I only put 9 lbs to lose because I never seem to reach my goal. Hoping this time will be it.

Well, I lost TWO POUNDS on the last challenge, so I am not sure what the odds are that I will lose 13 in this one. On the bright side, I spent a week on vacation in Richmond, VA eating at restaurants every night and day (yummy stuff too) and I didn't gain anything. So, that's a victory. I would REALLY like to hit the low 220s by August 18, because that will bring me back to my wedding weight after 18 years. I'm not even THINKING about Onederalnd, yet (all you skinny people).

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
