Wow I am so sorry. You are right, the risks are low but when they happen to you, it's 100%. My heart really goes out to you. Thanks for sharing and I wish you all the best.

I'm horribly sorry that all this happened to you. what a disappointment and a dreadful experience. I hope you are now feeling a little better.

I hope you consider filing a formal complaint with the medical board. It's people like you who file a complaint, that have this information documented on the physician's record, so that when we all research a doctor we can see that he made mistakes in the past. It helps those who are considering a doctor to make an informed decision on that doctor. That way no one else will have to go through what you did. Are they making you pay the $25,000?????

Shelly what a horrible thing to have gone thru all because you wanted to live a healthy long life! Thank-God you are on the road to recovery!

I would take the advice of aubrie and either seek legal counsel or make a report to the medical board. I would certainly request all your records! I hope you weren't a self pay. Perhaps if you still want to proceed with weight loss surgery in the future you might consider the sleeve.

All the best!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry you had such an awful experience. As with any surgery, complications are always possible and it is important we know the risks as well as the benefits.

:eek:So sorry to hear you went through all that. I am like some of the others in asking you to post the doctor's name and the hospital, it may save someone else from what happened to you. We never know unless brave people like you tell us.

I pray for you a speedy recovery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
