Hi guys--

Ya know how the docs want us to exercise after our bands? But all I wanna do is sit in front of my puter on lapbandtalk.com? How about putting a generator on an exercise bike attached to the computer so the computer will only work when I'm riding the bike? Hmmmm...maybe I should patent that...any investors out there?

You know that is so funny cause as i read this & type I am on my bike!!! I have not been banded yet still waiting on insurance approval but i am trying to get myself in the habit of some things now. I made it up in my mind that for now on i will not get on my laptop unless i am on my bike. Good thought uh! lol

Funny you should post this yesterday at lunch my friend told me she rides this thing all day called the Stamina InStride Cycle. She sits at a computer all day and just cycles. I was going to try and find one she said she got hers at Walgreens.

I actually walk on my treadmill with my laptop on the tray and chat on lapbandtalk, while walking for 30-45 minutes.

Yep they have em on their website InStride Cycle XL | Stamina | Walgreens

Now all i need is someway to be able to use it and have my keyboard in front of me at the same time. lol

Awesome idea! I just ordered an elliptical with a 7-inch TV screen.... I will only watch TV while working out during the first month so I can get in the habit!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
