Help!!!!! I Have Asthma

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone I am almost at my finish line:biggrin2:… but I have come to a fork in my road. I am a serve asthmatic and I just recently got sick. I came home from work and everything was good I fed my son cleaned the kitchen I was fine, but then I sat on the coach an I couldn’t breath. I told my husband we need to go to the hospital so off we went. I was at the hospital for about 4 hours and I went home. Here is the kicker :success1: I walked in my apartment and no more than 6 minutes later EMS was at my house to take me back to the hospital. I couldn’t breathe again and I was getting worst. As I was at the hospital I kept thinking to my self would I have such bad asthma if I was skinny? So many questions and thoughts went through my mind and I started to cry. I really want this surgery for many reasons but the main one is for better health. But when I was there I was just looking around me and asthma comes in all shapes and sizes. My problem is will this surgery help me get my asthma under control or am I just that person that will have very bad asthma for the rest of her life.

I just want to talk to people that have asthma and had the band or have asthma and is thinking about it like my self. I am so frustrated because I want this so bad but not that bad were my asthma will get worst.

If any one could PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help me or give me some advise that would be great…. :biggrin2:

I don't have asmtha but true it comes in all shapes and sizes, and weight does play a role in how YOU handle the attacks when they come. Hang in there... I think you are really suffering from the presurgery jitters..... (we all get them)

I have had severe Asthma most of my life. The heavier I am - the worse it is.

I'm hoping that banding will aid in my maintaning my asthma in a healthy manner.

I have asthma and over the years it has been getting worse. I was at the point of taking my rescue inhaler every day, multiple times. In the last 6 weeks, I have lost 29 pounds and have noticed that my asthma has improved drastically. I probably take my inhaler 2 times a week.

For me, it seems like the more weight I lose, the better my breating is. It is also easier for me to exercise with my asthma now that I have lost weight.

I think of the difference only 29 pounds has made. I can't wait to see what it is like when I get to 100 pounds lost.

Losing weight is not likely to make it go away, but should make it a little easier to handle and maybe diminish the severity of the attacks. It should also help your overall health.

I was banded on 5/28 and have adult onset asthma (due to gaining 100 lbs.) Anyway, I have not used my inhaler at all. My mom has the same thing but 10 times worse and her asthma is doing good. She was banded on 4/14.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
