I start next week. The day I go to my proop class is also the day I start. I'd like to be prepared. Please tell me about what are you drinking for those 2 weeks.

I am in the middle of the 2 week pre op diet.

I got my stuff from BetterMD and consists of Soups, shakes, juice, and Jello, all in separte packets. My typical day meals goes like this:

Breakfast - Mocha shake

3 hours late - Orange juice packet

lunch - chocolate shake

3 hours later - Fiber Jello or fruity Fiber drink

dinner - vanilla shake and chicken noodle Soup packet.

I get to mix all my shakes with skim milkinstead of Water.

Also, can have as many as I want sugar free popsicles.

I am 4 days into my pre-op diet right now. I get a Slim-Fast low carb shake for Breakfast and lunch. It has 20g of Protein in it, so keeps me pretty full. I also drink 2 20oz Special K protein waters during the day. For dinner I have 4oz of lean meat and 1 cup of veggies. I then have another glass of Water sometime in the evening.

My pre-op consisted of 2 weeks of the opti-fast diet. They are like milk-shakes. I would have 5 per day, one every 3 hours. I could also have sugar-free Jello and Water. That was it for 2 weeks. It was 800 calories a day. It wasn't that bad tho. I was actually hungrier after my surgery when I was on only Clear Liquids.< /p>

My pre-op diet was two weeks of a Protein shake for breakfast and lunch and then a high Protein low carb dinner.......piece of meat and a spinach salad was the standard for me...... I thought that was tough....now I am on post-op for two weeks of "full liquids" wow could I go for that steak and spinach salad now!!!! I never thought I would dream of the mashed potatoes I can have on Tuesday (mushies).......

what's with watching food shows............I never watched much before......only once in awhile.

Good luck and follow your Doctors pre-op rules..........

Hey haven't posted in a while, lots of stuf going on. My granddaughter was born May 16th and she's healthy and quite the cutie pie. Hubby is having heart surgery on July 14th, he has to have his mitral valve replaced. Good news no underlying CHD. His arteries are clear as a bell...this is the guy who loves his steaks and mashed potatoes LOL.

Also our septic system failed. So we need a new one. Getting bids and engineer drawing up the plans. MA has very very strict rules now. called Title 5. That's a nice piece of change we can't afford.

And my good news.....ta da, I lost 8 lbs and they are scheduling my surgery next week I get the date, will have to go for August so that hubby has 4 weeks to heal from his surgery. I just watch what I eat

Have fat free yogurt for my Snacks and do "mindftul" eating , I have completed 3 of the 4 week meetings with the shrink and others going for the lapband on eating triggers and proper eating techniques. It's been very helpful. I have one other meeting to go too after I see the surgeon and then ....it will be operation time. I have to lose 4 more lbs by the surgery.

I eat 3 small meals a day, with one snack. For a total of 1400 or so calories and do 20 minutes of exercise per day. I hope to continue this after the sugery when I recover.

Good luck and hope your surgery goes well.

My pre-op was the standard for pretty much any surgery w/ a general.

3 days of liquids.< /p>

I drank tons of hot chocolate, pumpkin Soup, cereal-drink milk only. Was on a cruise...had to improvise.

Im going on a cruise after my surgery. Could I really mess it up by eating the wrong foods? Im waiting for my first fill until after the cruise, or so Im planning now. My surgery I believe will be July 8th, my cruise is Sept 7th, so 2 months later. Im afraid to have the first fill before my cruise in case I cant eat or have problems with it, I want to be near a doctor right after the first fill. At least thats my thinking, anyone else have some suggestions for me. The cruise has been scheduled since April 07 and Im driving 2 other people, neither of whom could drive themselves, and made final payment.

I dont want to put off surgery for 2 months until after my cruise, Im hoping it wouldnt have a adverse effect on the lapband. I keep reading to "take care of it" but unclear what that means.

Don't cheat yourself out of the lapband system just because you have vacation plans. Many feel the same way;however, about being banded in Oct/Nov/or Dec.... so close to the holidays and they want to be able to eat.

My advice is 6 weeks from surgery have your first adjustment. Stats say you won't get restriction...so you are a go for the buffets!

But, make an appointment now for the day you return. It was #2 that gave me restriction...so it could be for you as well.

Make the 6 week and the second adjustment appointments NOW.

And post pics of your trip- have fun!

Did you really loose that much in a year? You must have stuck to the diet and exercise plan very well. Great job.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
