The band is not good do not do it! PLEASE! save your self the money!

I get the feeling you are young and do not have the perspective of someone who has spent decades yoyo dieting only to gain back more than I lost. May I ask roughly how old you are?

Have you have followup appointments and fills, or have you give up completely shortly after the surgery? As I understand it the band is empty when put in place, and if you gave up and did not follow through it is not fair to say that you did not lose any weight.

I have done lots of research on this and even watched videos of the real surgery rather than the pretty animations, I know what I am in for down to every cut and stitch as well as the complications that can occur. I have pain in my back anytime i stand for more than 10 minutes, I am at the point that I would trade that off for nearly any complication short of mortality. My knees get stiff from minimal exercise. Without the surgery and weight loss my arthritis and backpain will only get worse.

Knowing what I know now, I would like to say if I could go back to 20 and do it then I would have, but without the life experience I know I could not have committed to the disipline required to follow a healthy diet. I can honestly say at that stage I would not have stopped drinking and socializing as part of it, it would not have worked for me the. Now is the right time for me, I have the conviction, determination and willpower.

If I am correct, perhaps you will decide otherwise in several years after trying other things and give this another try. Try to work hard on those weight issues without medical assistance if that is how you chose to address it, but realize that statistics are not in your favor. If you are morbidly obese you have a 1% chance of success using natural methods.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
