pammiesue3160 0 Posted June 19, 2008 hello i am new to the website. i am strongly considering lapband surgery. i am really interested in the pros/cons of this method of weight loss. i am concerned about the complications that may arise as well as the longevity of the weight loss once the band is removed. any assistance is welcomed!:cursing:
Lizalee 1 Posted June 19, 2008 Hi I would suggest you contact a bariatric program in your area. They generally have information sessions that will explain a lot of the questions that you have. Many bariatric programs require the info session as the first step to being accepted into the program. (mine did) Also, look around on this web site on some of the threads on general info. There's a ton of information out there. The medical librarian at your local hospital can also help you find information if you don't have a bariatric surgery program nearby. There are studies on long-term weight loss/maintance. Good luck with your journey. I love my band and I've had great success so far! Generally the band is left in - not taken out. I'm glad your band experience has been great. I pray that my experience will be equally as great. I'll keep in touch!
