mtnman428 1 Posted June 17, 2008 Hello everyone! This is my first post here, but I've been loving all of the info that I'm finding here, thanks! I'm about 95% sure that I'm having the Lap Band done by Dr. Ortiz in Mexico next month (July 08'). My main concern is the aftercare. Can anyone share their experiences on their aftercare and follow-ups since having surgery in Mexico please (especially patients of Dr. Ortiz)? I live in RI, so I don't know if I'll always be going back to Mexico for my fills, or if I'll go to a fill center, but the closest 1 to me is a couple hour drive too. Thanks. plain 12 Posted June 18, 2008 Hi getthin. Welcome. I didn't have my surgery in Mexico, but since nobody else replied, I thought I'd give my $.02 about fills. It sucks having to drive for awhile to get to a fill center, but that'd be waaaaay better than going to Mexico (unless you could could time the fills with your vacation and then deduct as "medical procedure"....LOL). But seriously, I've had 2 fills and so far they take about 30 seconds to complete. No big deal, and they're almost painless. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
