Big Hello From Alabama

Recommended Posts

I was banded 02/28/08 by Dr Britt. It's the best thing I've done for myself in a very long time. So far I've lost 41 lbs.:) I just had my 2nd fill last week...may be a little to tight. I'm having a little trouble eating. I'm chewing well and eating slow but still feeling uncomfortable. My goal will be reached when I've lost a total of 110 lbs. I enjoy reading about everyone's experiences with the band.

7_5_142.gifHello Sperry....Dr. Groves done mine! I am in Huntsville. Great job on the weight loss... I get my 1st fill on the 23rd. But if I am correct from what I am reading you have to give the band a few days after a fill to be sure about if it is tight enough or not. You say you think yours is to tight..How are liquids going down?If you are having trouble swallowing then you might want to call the office. Maybe get a little taken out. Good luck. Let us know how things go, alright.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
