Euphoric Sense of Well-Being

Recommended Posts

Anyone else have this? Lately I've just felt so darned good. I used to have good days about once every couple months. Now I feel good about 4-5 days a week. I can do more, have more energy and feel so good about myself. I'm almost high on feeling good. The thing that is the weirdest to me is that I feel confident, young and sassy again. Something I haven't felt in many, many years. And the really bizarre part is that I still have over 120 pounds to go until my goal weight. Does it just keep getting better and better? :biggrin2:

Yep, it does.

running gives me this feeling in particular, the novely NEVER wears off. My internal dialogue is going "would you believe, I'm running, yes ME, I'm doing it" over and over again, lol.

Yes! I feel like that lot. My husband keeps commenting on it, and also on my increasing confidence. I very rarely had good days before.

I feel like this alot lately, like I was really missing out on life before this, or going through the motions but not really realizing that. Life is so good, I am glad you are feeling it too!

Oh my gosh yes!!!!! It's amazing! I walk in places with my head held high, brimming with confidence, I feel attractive, energetic and just wonderful! These feelings only increase as the weight drops off! Isn't it great?????

Yes.. though I was still active at almost 300 pounds... I would shy away from all the parties we would get invited to... not go on tubing trips and camping trips... just felt too big and didn't want to sit in the camp chairs with my butt hanging over.. So, it hurt my DH too because he would want to go. I'm so active now.. I'm still big, but I can fit in my camp chairs and I just feel better, sexier... I went to that beach weekend party this weekend and I had so much fun.. My knees didn't kill me.. It is a Euphoricfeeling indeed!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
