mari113032 0 Posted June 14, 2008 Hi, My name is Mari and I'm actually un banded. I'm here looking to find out more information. To tell u a little about my weight history, I'm actually at my highest of 215 right now but have always been overweight. At this time in my life where I ma trying to find myself, I really don't want to have to be depressed about my yo yo ing weight. I rather focus on finishing school, finding a career and finding love and eventually starting a family. I've tried several programs, and am a regular gym goer but do have a problem with my food intake. lol. I'm hoping that lapband will be a way fro me to become a healthier, happier person and keep me from acquiring the many health problems that my parents have. Talking to some of you guys have already gotten me excited about the whole thing.
Froggi 4 Posted June 14, 2008 what is your bmi 215 seems a little low of a weight for weight loss surgery my goal weight is between 170 and 200 LOL
mari113032 0 Posted June 15, 2008 its wavering between 37 and 39 bc on a good day i'm 215, majority of the time i'm at 220. I'm hoping that i can plead the case that i have tried several weightloss programs and do consistently go to the gym. Not to mention I have a strong family history of health problems. I don't know, if i decide to do it, I'll probably have to find a way outside of insurance to finance it.

NY2LAGirl 0 Posted June 15, 2008 Mari I was 195 when I went for my first appt with my doctor. I didn't have enough other medical issues and my insurance company didn't think my sleep apnea was severe enough therefore they denied my claim so I had to self pay. It doesn't necessarily have to be based on BMI. My cousin had gastric bypass 2 days ago and she is the exact height and weight as you but she was border line diabetic and had high blood pressure. The only way to get the answers you seek is to make that appointment with a surgeon! Don't let fear stop you, you have made the first step by joining this site now take the next one.....good luck!:frown:
