Help me eat breakfast!

Recommended Posts

I'm sure this has been answered before...but I need help with Breakfast. I think I have decent but not quit tight enough restriction. I am very tight in the morning and I have stopped eating Breakfast. I'm thinking that's not great for my metabolism. The sad thing is that as I go through the day I get looser and looser until at night I can eat as muh as I let myself (of course nothing like before the surgery). Anyway- I don't have a lot of time in the morning so I am looking for a quick breakfast that I can eat on the run and that won't get stuck....so things like breakfast bars or Bagels don't work for me. I would also love something with Protein and the health factor working for me, but less than 200 calories....

Can anyone help? What do you eat for breakfast?:confused2:

What i do..Is the drinkable yogurts when pressed for time..

My system cannot handle eggs..So,.. (a hard boiled egg is out of the question for me)..but... may work for you.And there is always the option of an Apple,Banana,Pear, Etc. I wish you all the best !

I agree, if you are tight in the mornings, yogurt is a great option. Lately I've been eating Kashi Cereal (high Protein and fiber) with a splash of 1% milk, but my restriction isn't the best right now so I can handle it. Good luck to you!

Hey froggi! We are now "officially" friends, lol, although I already considered you one. You're a great asset to the board and I enjoy reading your posts. I'm happy to be your friend!

I rarely ate breakfast before. So its very hard for me to eat. I eat either a Protein Shake or a Protein Bar. I found some nice bars from Walmart high in Protein and I think only 189 calories. And under 5.00 a box. I know you say you can eat those but I said it for other just in case. Also the EAS shakes from there a really good. They come in individual little boxes for easy on the go.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
