kim534 0 Posted June 14, 2008 Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone else has had thyroid problems and is banded? I had a complete thyroidectomy in 2003.I am losing weight. But I just had an abnormal TSH level. they raised my levoxyl from 150mcg to 200mcg. It is harder to lose for me if my levels are not right.I eat 800 to 1000 calories a day. It just seems that I am not losing as fast as some of you.

It just seems that I am not losing as fast as some of you. I had a total done in 2004. I'm now looking to be banded. I'm not on Synthroid any longer because my TSH levels were bouncing all over the place. Try to find a Doctor who will switch you to Armour Thyroid. That should help level everything out for you. You have to remember that everybody loses weight at a different pace. Where it seems that some people drop the lbs in nothing flat, and others are dropping lbs a little at a time, every lb lost is a milestone, and should be treated as such. As for having no Thyroid, that does put a different spin on things, and does add some challenges along the way to becoming healthy again. Just remember that you're doing your best, and that your Doctor's happy with a with your success so far. You will reach your goals, it all takes time.
