Cinderita Banded June 6, 2008

Recommended Posts

-I was just banded one week ago in TJ, Mexico

-Dr. Corvala at Hospital Angeles

-Everything seems to be as expected.. still on the mend...

-Dr. Corvala was wonderful.. the Hospital Staff were super great.. I can't believe how beautiful the hospital was.. the rooms.. like a 5 star hotel.. and the care was "excellent"... I wouldn't even mind paying for some of the health care in my home town .. if I were guaranteed the same level of care and beautiful room.. !!

-Start Weight 240 lbs

-Goal Weight 140 lbs by June 6, 2009

-Height = 5'3.5"

I am healing more everyday... finally got a great nights sleep last night.. was scared to sleep on my side .. I worked overtime yesterday and weighed myself at work... The day after surgery I was 234.5 and yesterday one week after surgery.. 219.9... so that is a loss of 14.6 lbs.... so I will continue to weigh myself at work... I was 240 lbs at my work scale on April 4, 2008 !! wooohooo !!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
