YAY!!!!! Are you planning to work after the baby gets here?? I figured you were feeling pretty sick, and yes, I would say that is a very good sign. It is hard to put into words how very happy I am for you. Having struggled with infertility myself, and then having a child. I know how amazing you feel right now (even with the nausea and fatigue). take care.

Amy

working is still up in the air. i REALLY dont want to and just found out daycare for a newborn where my DD currently goes is 224 a week, plus her 176, that's 20,800 a year in daycare costs!!! yikes!

we'll see though... my work has great benefits (not expensive medical and ummm, free flights... )

i have another OB appointment the 28th and we'll schedule my next ultrasound. im getting excited! :)

morning sickness isnt that bad - pretty much gone away except when there is some sort of sudden movement or when DH and i are sitting on the couch and he's bouncing his leg ... grrrrrrr.

Can't wait for the morning sickness to end.....

Glad to hear your morning sickness is mellow. I on the other hand am still sick all day. It's definitely better than a couple weeks ago but still really rough.

We heard the heartbeat for the first time yesterday!!! My DH thought it sounded like a train so we've nicknamed the baby CHOO-CHOO!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
