luigismama 0 Posted June 12, 2008 Does anyone know if 1 week post-op it's OK to have a small iced Decaf coffee? I swear I'll put skim milk in it! I don't miss the caffeine as much as the taste. I'm doing so well on my liquid diet, but I'm SO SICK of artificial sweetener taste in my mouth. My diet guidelines just say Clear Liquids and Protein Shakes with milk or soy milk-what do you think?:confused2:
Rugrat682 0 Posted June 12, 2008 I tried it early on and it did not go well for me. I tried 2 weeks out and 3 weeks out. It made me feel gross. However, everyone is different and by week 4 I was fine with coffee. If so, just start with a sip or two and see how you do. My dr. recommended fat free Creamer. I like the simply smart creamer. Yum. Good Luck.
aimerus 0 Posted June 12, 2008 Yum. That sounds good. I don't see why that would be a problem at all. If you are really worried though, call and check with your dr/nurse. I am 7 days post op and am having something new for lunch - Cream of Wheat- you think I'd died and gone to heaven! This is very tasty.
Cadets71 1 Posted June 12, 2008 I had a fat free, Decaf, iced coffee exactly one week out. It tasted great and I tolerated it fine but could only do about 1/4 cup. Also, I had baby oatmeal this moring and it was awful. Will try cream of wheat tomorrow. It's exciting to be on full liquids.< /p>

sexymommyof3 0 Posted June 12, 2008 how do you post the weight loss ticker? Thanks!
gdf18 2 Posted June 12, 2008 Of course you can. Decaf is on the liquid stage, as are popcicles. So, why wouldn't iced decaf be good? More important is how it feels to you. I prefered Hot Drinks after surgery- but that's a personal preference. Just sip very very slowly.
luigismama 0 Posted June 13, 2008 Thanks, all! I only had a little bit, but it tasted SO good. I have plenty left over for tomorrow if the craving strikes again. Can't wait until I can add some more variety in my food choices
Insky67 2 Posted June 14, 2008 They brought me Decaf coffee while I was still in the hospital...said it was okay if it was decaf. I had no problems with it and it was goood.
