mtanna 0 Posted June 10, 2008 Hi All!! Just had to drop in to say that I got my approval letter from Cigna today!! I didn't necessarily want to sign in just to say that, but I did want to say to all of you just starting or in the middle or at the point of maybe giving up.... DON'T!!!! Dealing with Cigna was the hardest, most frustrating, pain in the butt I've ever had to experience but I didn't and WOULD NOT, give up. Keep calling these insurance companies, go for what you really want... Don't let them beat you down because I'm telling you it's all a game with them. They figure if they keep saying no, you'll eventually give up and they don't have to pay for a surgery but those of you that have to take medication because of your weight issues, will have to continue to pay them money every month to survive. They make more money if YOU stay unhealthy. Good luck to you all and please, don't take no for an answer!! I was denied 3 times before I was approved but I will tell you one thing, I was on the phone with Cigna DAILY asking if I was approved yet and demanding answers as to "why not" and "what do you need from me" and "who do I need to call now".....blah, blah!!:behindsofa:

aimerus 0 Posted June 10, 2008 Great news! Good for you for not giving up! I too have had the pleasure of dealing with Cigna. So frustrating. Some days I was in tears.. I just couldn't believe how stupid they were. After jumping through all of their requirements and sending in all my records, the immediately sent a letter saying that bariatric sugery was excluded from my plan. Though they had provided me with the requirements and told me that it was covered if medically necessary blah blah blah..... Everytime I called, I got a different answer. It was crazy. I hope I don't have to deal with them again anytime soon. Again, Congrats and Good luck to you!
