I don't eat breakfast until at least a couple of hours after I wake up and I've usually had 2-3 cups of coffee before I can face it. I take my brekkie into work with me and eat it around morning tea time. My doc says if you don't feel like breakfast, don't eat it! Save the calories for the evening when you are hungry.

Mmm weetbix, I'm definetly going to miss breakfast after I'm banded, I never used to eat breakfast but I had to go on medication that I have to eat with and got in a pattern of it - I don't think it'll be that bad though, I heard that after about 3-4 hours you can eat which isn't too bad, I mean that way you can eat fruit or something for morning tea/brunch right?

Everyone is different Sarah - you may be able to eat breakfast just fine (like me). I love oatmeal, or a poached egg on toast on Sundays.

True, I've been thinking about breakfast solutions - if I am able to eat and the only that I can really think of that I like is stuff like poached eggs, weetbix, baked Beans on toast, I figure there pretty good I mean baked beans thats half your fibre and heaps of Protein right?

Haven't been able to eat breakfast for about a month now. 10am I can eat a tiny bit and finally eat decent around 2pm. HOWEVER, although I absolutely cannot stand oatmeal, I tried it this morning around 9am and was able to eat it. They say your tastes change after weight loss surgery and I think it finally happened to me. I actaully liked the oatmeal and plan on trying it again tomorrow. Since its a mushy, I think it goes down nicely in the morning for us who have problems eating in the am. :cool2:

I talked to my doctor today about this after reading this thread. She said it is VERY common for pts to have a lot of restriction in the morning, and that's why her office doesn't do fills before 11:00am. Weird huh!?

I imagine it has something to do with being horizontal while sleeping and maybe it taking a few hours for gravity to pull things down again, to a point where you feel OK to eat.

i cant eat in the mornings at all. i even find drinking Water very difficult.

However, I had a cup of tea this morning and it went down fine. I havent drinken tea in aaaages, perhaps its the temperature of the drink ?

Not sure.

I dont really drink Hot drinks often. Will have a cuppa again in the morning and see if it goes down alright.

I was wondering if it was normal...atleast now i know it is.

I've only had problems with breakfast since I reached restriction. Before that I could eat a horse! (almost literally!) So maybe it is a restriction factor??

Oatmeal is definitely the easiest breakfast to eat. I love weet bix and oatrmeal so I'm lucky. But weet bix is not so good now.

I'm not a fan of Weetbix, I like Vitabrits but now I have discovered I love the new Oatbrits...I find that once the milk has softened the Cereal, it is nice and mushy

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
