siouxsie sioux 0 Posted June 8, 2008 Hi everyone I live in the SW of England, did loads of research, and have decided to go to see the Boys in Brugge (Dr Dillemans) . Have also found an aftercare package for 12 mnths for £699 to include absolutely everything, with the WLS group- I am travelling alone to belguim and am just staying 1 extra night and coming back alone as well- I am looking forward to it all.. I did loads of research befor i made my decision- I'd love to hear from anyone who would like to chat... I'm a relative light wieght with a BMI of 34 and I know I'd never get a Uk Dr to be happy to band me- but I'm looking for prevention rather than cure... I dont want to wait.. I want to start my new life ASAP.. Great forum.. hope to hear from you..
mica 0 Posted June 8, 2008 Hi there, I was a BMI of around 35 and was banded Jan 25/08 in Tijuana, Mexico at a cost of $7500.00 plus flight. Like you, I could never have been banded here in Canada at that low of a BMI. You know, this was the best decision regarding my health (physical and mental) that I have ever made! So far, I have lost around 40 lbs and feel great. My battle with weight has been most of my life, I am 46 and fat since age around 6. I have lost and gained a hundred times and was fed up! This band is my tool to keep me on track. I can no longer eat large amounts, it is physically impossible! I wish you all the best in your NEW life and keep us all posted on your journey. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
