Recommended Posts

Because that is what I have lost since surgery (1/24/05) and I think I should have lost more. I had one fill 2 weeks ago and since then l lost about 4 lbs (in the first few days post fill) nothing lost since then.

I had my surgery on 01/07/05 and I am down 23.5, you are doing really good!

At first I was kind of upset because I was expecting to lose faster but hey I am going down and not up. Also I see that inches go way faster than the pounds!!

I'd be happy with over 11 pounds a month... hell yeah!

Exactly what I would have said. There is no reason at all to be unhappy with that rate of loss!! Great job!!! :) :) :D

11.25 lbs a month, thats a loss of over 2 lbs aweek You bet I would be happy!

Average weight loss with the band is 1-3 lbs a week. Looks like you are above average. Great Job, do not be discouraged by this at all. Be Proud!! :)

Keep up the great work... btw you will plateau and loose and plateau and loose. It seems to be the pattern.

Wow that is wonderful, I was banded on Nov. 4 and have lost about that amount, so you are doing just great, wish I could lose weight that fast. What do you eat on an average day? You know I think my problem is that I'm not eating enough, I'm starting to look sick to people. Four people asked me if I was feeling okay today, that for sure is a sign that I look like shit. In the last two days I have been able to eat a little bit more, hopefully I can start eating healthier and feeling better.

That is fantastic. Remember band people loose more slowly than gastric bypass people. This is actually a good thing. Your skin will retain it elasticity better. 34LBS WOOHOO! Way to go girl!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
