brebre84 0 Posted June 5, 2008 i have tried it all. i was placed on my first diet at the age of 8, kinda gives a child a complex if you ask me! but i have tried weight watchers, slim fast, exercise of all kinds, starving, all fruit, diet pills, basically you name it i tried it. but it never worked. in high school i was a runner on cross country. even running 5 miles daily and working out and eating well didn't change my weight problems. as i get older and become less and less excited with my body i finally decided to change the problem. i am tired of being the fat girl with a pretty face. my boyfriend sees nothing wrong with me, my friends say i'm not fat, my family critics my body all the time and i look in the mirror with disgust! i have never been thin and i want it, for myself. i want to have kids and see them grow up. i want to shop in a store and not run the other way. so now i am trying to see if this is what will work. i am looking for the solution! bre:thumbup:
juliegeraci 7 Posted June 6, 2008 Hi Bre, I have been banded for 2 years. I have lost 75% of my excess weight. I too tried everything you did. The band is a great tool. I hope you have much success. Julie
plain 12 Posted June 6, 2008 Well.....what's your height and weight, Bre? What's your BMI? People and your mirror can sometimes lie to you.
brebre84 0 Posted June 6, 2008 i have no idea what my bmi is but i know i need to lose over 100lbs. it's not a matter of a few extra pounds. that would be fine but alas the mirror seems to be telling the truth this time! i just worry that so many things can go wrong with the surgery and how it will affect me in the long run. i am 24 and i want to have kids and i don't know what the side affects will be and i can't image having the band in my stomach for the rest of my life. but i also can't image a life if i continue gaining weight. i have already gained almost 60 lbs in one year. i wish i had reasons like depression or stress or something but my life is fine except for the weight. grrrr...
