Hastings 3 Posted June 5, 2008 Well try it and see. If you become hungry very soon after then you know it doesn't work. Your best bet is probably something a little more substantial in the Cereal department. Cooked whole grain cereal, perhaps.
nip50 2 Posted June 6, 2008 I eat Kashi GoLean cereal at least 4 days a week with a little low fat milk. I do find with this. It doesn't hold me quite as long as say eggs, but close enough. If I was to mention this to the doctor, I'm sure he would remind me that it would be considered a liquid, but it works fine for me.
Jachut 487 Posted June 6, 2008 I find any liquid/solid food quite difficult to eat - easy to slime on if I'm not careful. Thicker cereal like muesli is better, with a little milk and contrary to how liquids are supposed to wash solids through, I stay full for HOURS. Soup is the same, I have to eat it carefully but it holds me for ages.
Bozzj 0 Posted June 6, 2008 i'm eating kashi right now with skim and no problems...then again i've been lucky so hard and never had a problem with anything (knock on wood).
make33 2 Posted June 6, 2008 I'm a big Cereal eater, so it was one of my first questions to my surgeon. The answer was to pour the milk on for a few seconds to moisten the cereal and then dump it off. At first I was doing that, but I find I can eat some cereals without moistening at all, i.e. Quaker Oat Squares. I also enjoy oatmeal (in the winter), which can be "moistened" with brown sugar!!
aubrie 6 Posted June 6, 2008 I've only eaten cold cereal with milk a few times. It didn't bother me in any way, but if I'm going to do cereal, I would rather have cream of wheat or oatmeal. I can cook it to a desired consistancy and then add unflavored Protein Powder to it to boost the Protein. Quaker makes a high protein instant oatmeal that is pretty damn good!! It's called weight control or something. There are two flavors. banana bread and cinnamon. I highly recommend it. I don't get hungry until well past lunchtime. bonnieb 0 Posted June 7, 2008 My nutritionist told me not to eat Cereal with milk since it won't keep me full. I can eat them separately but I probably won't bother. I usually eat eggs or cottage cheese or some other high Protein thing for Breakfast.< /p>
