SueAZ 3 Posted June 5, 2008 I am two weeks out and am looking forward to the following weeks and getting back to real food. Funny thing is I am looking forward to salads. I was wondering how much salad do you eat? I know about the 2 - 4 ouches of Protein and carbs but how do you measure salad? Thanks for the input.

juliegeraci 7 Posted June 5, 2008 It depends on how much solid Protein you eat with it. Probably about 1 - 2 cups depending.
kdlee 0 Posted June 5, 2008 I'm not sure how to measure it. I haven't gotten to that point yet. But, my nutritionist told me that some people have difficulty eating salad post-band and have PB'ing. It would be interesting to see how many people on here can actually eat salad without problems.
danibryt 0 Posted June 5, 2008 salad hadn't bothered me post-surgery. I was able to eat two cups easily. All that changed last night with my third fill. I was supposed to have it last week; but had lost too much weight the week before. This time they added quite a bit of Fluid, so I was done with my salad after only a couple bites. The tomatoes went down better, but the mushrooms were a definite NO! Everyone is different. I recommend a salad with chicken or other Protein in it. Eat most of the protein towards the beginning of the meal. Your body will tell you when you are done. Also, a little hint; I add non-fat milk to my dressing to thin it out. That way it moistens more of the lettuce and makes it easier to eat without adding extra fat and calories.
