slipped band??

Recommended Posts

I ate scrambled hamburg last night and boy did it get stuck!! I hurt for hours afterwards and finally vomited. I was in a lot of pain all last night, it felt like I pulled a ton of muscles. I had to break out the heating pad and put it on my stomach. It still hurts this morning. I had a small bit of Cereal because I was hungry and now my stomach is making gurgling noises. What should I do????

What do you mean when you say scrambled hamburger? It was like mixed well with egg? Sorry I dont exactly get that, maybe you didnt chew well enough? Or maybe you ate too quickly? If it's still happening in a couple of hours maybe try an antacid for your stomach

Berry:

Sounds like you had a very bad "stuck" incident. I recommend that you call your doctor and see if they want you to have a barium swallow.

I hope you feel better soon.

Brandymom - when this happened to you did you also feel nausiated? I also feel like I have some indigestion because I keep belching. I took a zantac a couple of hours ago & it hasn't helped all that much yet.

Thanks for everyone's input!

I doubt if your band slipped. I had pain like that a couple of times. Go on liquids for 24 hours if you can. or very soft foods and don't eat too much. Give it a rest. Call your doctor if it doesn't get better and inform him/her about it at the next visit

I have been reading all these blogs about slips and I am freaked out. Any solids I eat I throw up. I have had my band for three years now and I am so used to throwing up. Every meal I throw up. Does this mean I have a slip? I am too scared to have to get my band removed if I have a slip but I also am not losing any weight. I have no liquid in my band because the last time I went to my doctor(six months ago) I had all of it removed in hopes of stopping the vommiting.....Has anyone else had this experience?

Laura- that's so strange that you still throw up without any liquid in your band. What does your doctor think about this?

How much weight have you lost since being banded? I was banded in March 2007. I haven't had much luck at all, I've only lost 10 lbs. I've only had one fill but I don't dare to get another. Sometimes I feel it's too tight and everything gets stuck. I'm starting to wonder if I did the right thing by getting the band. It's so frustrating!

berry,

I had the exact same thing happend to me about a month or so ago. I was told to drink some pineapple juice? ?why I did not know but I did try it and my Dr. said to stay on liquids for 24-48 hrs. And that did the trick..I was also very concerned that I might have slipped my band.

But thank goodness It was just a really bad stuck:P But still call your dr to be on the safe side. Take care!

Move to liquids 2 days then mushies. You are swollen. If your stomach is growling you are hungry. I would have soft diet. Maybe some yogurt. Try and stay away from scrambled eggs. They may come back up. Good luck. Your band didn't slip. This sounds like a normal PB.
