blynn 0 Posted July 3, 2008 I have my consult tomorrow so the approval process is just begining for me. I was refered for a consult by my PC. It took about 2 weeks to get approval for consult only, and this was made very clear by the referal letter. I attended the informational meeting in May. I will keep you posted on the progress. serenity55 15 Posted October 26, 2008 The physicians group I was with was bought out by someone so I belong to another one now. I learned this when I went to see my primary care physician on October 14. She resubmitted the paperwork and I got an approval at the end of the week. I scheduled my consult with the surgeon for November 17, but they called me at work last Tuesday to say they had a cancellation for the following day at 11 A.M. So I took it. I've already had the cardiology exam and psychological evaluation, so I hope I don't have to do those things over again. I went to a seminar in June. good luck to everyone. kenita12 0 Posted October 26, 2008 I just had the surgery 10-24, I started the whole process in december 0f 2007, after I saw the dietician and psych I was approved right away, it took so long because the dr I chose had like a 4 month waiting list, but other than that it went fast, the only setback I had was since I scheduled my surgery like four months ahead, by the time my surgery was only a few weeks away pacificare canceled the contract with the hospital I was scheduled for so I have to wait like 3 more weeks for another hospital ssigment, do just make sure you keep intouch on these issues.
