I still don't get why so many people puke... I've never puked up my food... Are you over eating? Eating too fast? Are your bites too big? I feel bad for you guys!

What's a PB? What's with the slime? I don't get these things??? LOL

You know your a bandster when you have to ask THESE questions!!!

I didn't have a PB until just last month. I have been banded since April 07!! I have slimed A LOT, but never Pb'd. I was a weird experience and I can not imagine doing it over and over again like some people. The sliming is gross and I hate it, but it does happen when I eat too big a bite and something gets stuck...

You know when........

You go out to eat with a friend who knows you have the lapband and she proceeds to ask you after every menu item "can you eat that?" while the waitress is looking at you with a puzzled look on her face.....

it takes you longer than anyone else to order food off of the menu and you rattle of the list of foods in your head you can't eat or would rather like to keep down after you get finished.

Sliming is the excessive spit you create when you get stuck.

You know your banded when you know the answers to the question and the visual of you sliming is still in your head.

When you buy a new fabulous fitting outfit to wear on a trip, pack it in your suitcase after purchasing it 2 weeks before your trip, get to your destination, put it on, and find that it absolutly falls off of you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
