...you start looking at the websites that offer designer clothes at cut-rate prices because NOW you can see yourself fitting into them someday, or for those veteran bandsters, you actually CAN fit into them!

Love this thread!

***TMI Alert***

Last night I went to hear a wonderful speaker, of course there was food at the end. I got over-enthusiastic about a couple of bacon-wrapped scallops (I would have eaten a dozen or more pre-band) and ate them too fast. Well you know what that means...

I had to leave early (had a hour drive home) and spent the entire hour on the freeway sliming and PB'ing...at 65 mph!:ohmy::ohmy:

EbonyRose I feel your pain! I live in NY where it's illegal to talk on a cell phone without a headset. The other day I got a fill and was too tight so was vomiting saliva every ten minutes. I was driving and was stopped at a light and leaned over to vomit into my cup, and two seconds later a cop pulls me over. He's like I pulled you over because it seems you were talking on a cell phone. I said absolutely not, I don't feel well and was throwing up into a cup, and I picked up the cup and kind of held it near the window. He got a look of utter disgust on his face and fled back to his car and drove away. It was hilarious!

This is great. I had the same problem when driving once and then also at a meeting. Tried to make it look like I was chewing something. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

This thread is so weird for me. Almost none of what is posted here applies to me. I've never PB'd, slimed, or gotten stuck. I can definitely eat more than 3 bites of food. I can still drink, poop, and eat much like I used to except the quantities are smaller. I have to wonder if alot of people in this thread are way too tight or maybe I'm just the weirdest bandster alive??:crying:

Just an observation. carry on all

Nurse Melly welcome to the group and congradualtions on the amount of weight loss. Sounds like you are doing all the right things and that you have a good band. How many fills and how much do you have. The band is a great tool, however I will say that everyone is differant in how they react with the band. It is one the best things that I have done for myself. It helps to keep me in check/line.

...you can rejoice with others on being members of the "Losers Club"!:w00t::)

...the fact that summer is coming holds a LOT less terror than it used to, because you are wearing a smaller size and taking off the outer layers that hide your body isn't as big a deal as it used to be!

...you applaud restaurants that have an option for a SMALLER portion of a dinner entree because you know you probably won't finish it anyway, but it's less expensive than buying the big dinner you KNOW you won't finish!

I have 5.5 cc in my band. I'm definitely not very restricted but I don't know that I would want to be so tight that I PB'd everyday. I don't think that's normal or the way the band was intended to be used. I am getting another fill next month so we'll see if that makes a difference. Trying to find a happy medium is the goal for me. I'd like to eat just like normal skinny people do :cursing:

Congrats on your weight loss as well!

You know you are a bandster when a six inch Subway sandwich now looks like a monster to eat!

And I do not have a fill yet either! So far the band alone has helped me lose 23 pounds!

When you avoid the appetizers at the restaurant so that you have room for the protean and still end up taking some home.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
