Had a tough Day

Recommended Posts

Hi All -

I am 6 weeks out and today I had a bad day. I was kind of hungry most of the day. It was just one of those days I guess. I pretty much stuck to my normal plan which is filled with Protein. I was even active - I try go out for lunch and walking and if I can't I do it at night. Tonight I had baseball with my 3 sons and I coach one of them so dinner was early. I had fish and vegatables. I was full after dinner, but after the game the boys wanted a quick snack and since my wife was working I took them through a drive through. I have to admit I ate something that I should have and now I am beating myself up.

Does everyone have these days and if so do they happen less and less?

Please let me know.

Yes, I have days like that sometimes. I think on OCASION, it's okay to indulge (in moderation of course). It does get better with time, at least it did for me. No one expects you to eat perfectly 24/7. As long as you don't make a habit of it, you should be okay. Don't beat yourself up about it. Just get back on track and move on. Good luck to you!

I wouldn't believe anybody who says that they don't have those days. Rather than beating yourself up, think about it this way - it is normal to indulge on occasion, and didn't you get the band to be normal?

Maybe it would help to think this way - eat really well 80 or 90% of the time, so that you can let loose every once in a while.

Embrace what happened and let it go. One of the worst things you can do to yourself is to get in that cyle of negative self talk which eventually can lead to "oh the heck with it all, I blew it so I might as well eat anything and everything I can find" (or is it just me that can get into that kind of thinking if I let myself?) :(

As a matter of fact, yesterday at 3pm I was starving and went through the McDonald's drive through and bought a double cheeseburger. I at it all over the course of 3 hours. It does happen. Move on.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
