So a little over a week ago the first Sonic in Michigan opened. The lines were anywhere from 2-4 hours long. Seriously? I would not even wait at my favorite sit down restuarant for 2 hours to get fed. Seeing as I have never eaten there, is Sonic really worth a 2 hour wait?

I do want to try it out but I think I will wait about 6 months to do so.

It was the same thing when Ikea opened. Lines were outrageous. I just waited about a year and then it was not so bad lol.

Sonic is definitely not worth the wait. I can't stand the food there. My hubby swears by them when we are back in TN but *gags* to greasy, even pre banding they were to gross to consider.

Although I do love a good grilled cheese, and they have it on the menu. But my biggest problem with it was it tasted like greasy cheese for the most part. I have never been able to stomach greasy foods.

Nope not worth the wait for this many useless calories. I really don't think there is anything there that is worth my time.

i used to love their slushes...can't have the calories/sugar anymore, but maybe once in a blue moon. their ice cream is average at best and i never had their food, but their grape slush - oh yeah!

They're alright, not worth any wait time though. That's weird, maybe it'll die down once the novelty wears off. I like their ocean Water drink, the rest of their stuff is no different from other fast food places.

That reminds me when the first and only Krispy Kreme opened up here and then the big "Atkins Diet" came back around again from the 70s and then the Krispy Kreme died it's natural death and is no more here. There were lines causing all sorts of traffic jams at the time. I did finally get down there, it was a few years ago and they were good but not worth the hassle and not a choice anymore anyway. The one sweet I can't tolerate! yahoo!!

The Sonic blackberry tea is awesome. It has enough sugar that it might put ya in a diabetic coma, but still.......

I'm so glad we don't have Sonic in NY!

I see commercials all the time for yummy ice cream things.

Sonic frequently appears on list(s) of the highest calorie and fat, fast food items. (Specially the ice cream things I  over)

I wouldn't wait for two hours for Sonic, or any fast food restaurant for that matter. Like others said, I find their food to be pretty greasy. But, alas, I must admit I do love their Peanut Butter fudge sundaes!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
