Oh Yeah!!!!! So glad you are back and feeling okay! So was it okay going alone? You weren't really alone, doesn't sound like! Glad you met some nice folks.

My neck hurt alot too, It's the gas...most folks complain about shoulder pain. mine was more upper back/shoulders/neck. It felt exactly like what you said, like I slept on it wrong and had a "crick" (do ya'll know what a crick is? or is that a southern thang?) Two words, heating pad!

Take very small sips and expect little in the amounts you are able to take in. Drink as much as you can to get by.

Well done alatina!!! give us all the scoop when you get rested! Glad you are back!!

My advice, stay away form the V-8! It caused me problems...very acidic. I haven't been crazy about Dr Kuri's menu. It's fine, but lots of fruit juices and such. I needed some substance!!! Mine came in the form of Boost. You could get Ensure or some generic protien-boosted drink llike that, in chocolate or vanilla (or strawberry!). I added frozen blueberries to the vanilla and it came up yummy! sip sip sip.

I wasn't hungry either, but your body will start really needing some calories. Just pick them carefully and take it slow. Well-squished-before-you-swallow Jello is good. Popsicles (get the fruit juice kind). Oh! and warm broth. Swanson makes chicken and beef in a carton. I just poured a few ounces in a tea cup and warmed it in the micrwave...sip sip sip.

Take it slow...tomorrow will be different so whatever your complaint is today it WILL change! No worries. Log on here often!

I know that feeling. I wasn't hungry either. I would drink a half cup of skim milk in the morning and not able to get anything else down til noon. For lunch you can have broth, or bouillon, if you do a cream Soup make sure you thin it good with Carnation Breakfast milk (the kind you make from the pouch). You can have Jello, tea as long as it's no caffeine, and juice (like apple juice). Hope this helps you out and get well soon.

Welcome to the Banded Gentry Alatina! My first week I mostly slept, although I went shopping at Trader Joe's the morning I got out of the hospital. (I stayed overnight) Watched several DVDs, went to the movies, read trashy novels, drove the 11 hour drive to my exile. Okay, I didn't actaully do the driving, my DH drove, I mostly slept while he drove)

And you will need to create a new ticker each time. I think the only tickers that automatically update are the ones that count down to something.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
