Sorry Vinesqueen, I'm having trouble keeping up with my postings!

Yeah, i had to sneeze last week and in trying to protect my incisions I somehow, tore/strained a muscle..when I sneezed the pain ran diagonally down my right side to my naval and I had the most painful, burning sensation I have ever experienced...which is why I think it tore...better now though...only get the burning sensation every once in a while...

hey, i had real issues with "sneezing" after banding. I thought I had pulled a muscle but it is actually the normal port/surgery pain that was felt. maybe this is what you are feeling???

I have been having pain in my lower left side. I was banded 1 1/2 weeks ago and feel great except for this ache. It almost feels like a side ache. Has anyone had this and how long till it goes away? Thanks girls!

Yes, I sneezed and had that same problem. It hurt for about two days and then just went away as quick as it came.

Sue,

Yep, that is the band healing. Had the same thing. Try sitting while leaning into a pillow on the port (aching) side. It helps to put some fluffy pressure on it. Mine started going away between week 4-5.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
