Frangi: Wow, August 26th. I can't believe you are ready to go for round 2. I'm going to be watching all of this very carefully, as the fat graftying technique is what my doctor suggested as well. You know that you can't sit or lie on your back side for 2 weeks, while the little fat cells fight for their lives? I'm just really not sure what to do. I've even thought about flying out to see Dr. S and get his opinion on what this ole body could benefit from. Right now, I'm still trying to recover from my latest surgery and get through the liquid diet! Glad you're back, it's been awfully quite a round here!

Wow Frangi that is quick. My PS won't consider anything including revisions for 3 months! THough I will have to wait longer for the rest of my surgeries because of $$$$! Glad that everything is working out for you though.

How is your swelling? I am up SEVERAL pounds but most of it is due to swelling. I did get a fill and my PS wants me to go back to low carb for a while to get the swelling under control since carbs = swelling for me.

Good morning ladies!

Frangi: I think its very normal to want to get use to your new body. It really does take time! I finally think I'm getting there. At first, there was a bit of a disconnect. I've talked to others that have experienced the same thing. I know that I really didn't have a good idea of my body naturally. I never realized quite how heavy I had gotten, etc. I think that exercise has really helped me get more in touch with my body. I bet you feel the same. You'll get use to your new shape before you know it!

Kari,

Thanks for this feedback. There is a huge disconnect for me. However now that you mention it, that disconnect definitely did work both ways as I didn't perceive myself to be as heavy as I was either.

Welcome Back Frangi! I missed you! Glad you had such a good time!! You must fit in perfectly with the South Beach night life being the Hot Mama you are!!:frown::tongue:

Congratulations on the green light also!

Thanks Jody! I missed you too!

Wow!!!

Congrats

Thanks Candle! BTW, I just found out that I'll be getting together with a friend in Vegas in November and I was thinking perhaps we could meet up then if that works for you. I will PM you with the dates once I have them anchored down.

Thanks again Kari! How are you feeling?

I know that this whole thing has been difficult, but WOW look at your ticker!!! At least you came out of it with a little windfall in that you're almost there with your goal weight -- Congratulations!!!!:thumbup::biggrin:

Yeah, the staying off the backside thing will be a bit tough and I have other concerns as well, which is why I'm still investigating and thinking this whole thing over.

I never thought in a million years that I would ever need to add to my backside, but I guess I must have done a pretty thorough job of cleaning the "junk out of my trunk" because there is virtually no fat left. Grrrrr....... considering that I have always had a fairly large derrière, it is highly ironic that I am suddenly faced with the prospect of actually having to go through a special procedure to enlarge it!!!!

welcome back Frangi !!!!

Hi Lulu,

Great to hear from you and thanks for the very lovely compliment!!!!

Hi Salsa,

My Dr.'s general rule is six months. However, when a pushy broad who's on a mission rolls through the door most "general rules" tend to go out the window :frown::tongue::tongue:!

All kidding aside, I definitely am doing this quicker than most patients would, but I also seem to bounce back and heal more quickly than the norm, so my Dr. is comfortable in moving forward with this.

I really don't seem to have much swelling, but I probably do and just don't realize it. That said, I have to believe that the swelling is going to get a whole lot worse after Round 2 -- and I am not looking forward to that...........

Good Luck to both of you and good health. I am heading down that road tooo!!!!!!!

Thanks Babedoe4! You are definitely headed down that road! Congratulations on losing 63 pounds -- that's WONDERFUL!!!!

Frangi..... you go girl!!!!! You are just amazing and I am thrilled to hear that you are going to follow your heart and head and go for round 2 so soon.

I agree, there is a lot that needs to be researched and looked into and ultimately, only YOU can make the deicsion to go with the fat-padding or not. But, I truly love the idea of less foreign material in your body. As long as the grafts work you know your body won't reject your own tissue. Laying on your belly for two weeks will be tough, but you have already been through and done the impossible; tough will be a piece of cake for you. It's all about the final results and what will make YOU happy.

I'm so excited for you .... only a few short weeks to wait!!!!!

Hi Cori,

Thanks girl!!! Your messages are always so encouraging and uplifting -- I really appreciate it :smile::rolleyes:

Wow! I've been lurking around on the Make Me Heal buttocks augmentation forum and there is a whole "booty" subculture out there, that I just cannot relate to. Some of these ladies want and are having HUGE backsides done -- cartoonish might even be a better description. I'm not sure what this is all about or why someone would want that, but surely this will be a passing fad.

After unsuccessfully attempting to sift through that section of the forum in search of helpful information, I finally gave up. I did post a query to a Dr. on a different section of the forum and hopefully I will hear something back.

A huge booty is definitely not for me -- all I want is what I had when I was back in college when my body was at its best -- just a small, lady-like, gently-rounded curve, and that's it. I trust my Dr. 100%, but I still wish I could find some additional information on this procedure as it always gives me peace of mind to know as much as I possibly can about something before I do it..........

Frangi: If you get any info on this, I hope you'll share with me as this is what I'm also considering. Wierd as it sounds my bottom is quite small now, but my thighs really need the LBL. I don't want a smaller booty because its pretty flat now. Please keep me posted on what you find out!

Hi Karey, I will definitely keep you updated.

I'm just really glad that my Dr. raised this whole issue with me and at least got me thinking about it, because I never would have dreamed that I might benefit from buttocks augmentation once all the excess skin is removed. However, I now do realize that excess skin is about all I have left back there, and once that's gone....well......

I have a friend who is a size zero and thinks she is SO HOT (self-confidence is a good thing, even if a bit overblown -- right ?), but truth be known, she has a totally flat backside and from the back she looks like a very elderly lady. The image of her flat backside keeps running through my head as I consider my options...........

Just a quick update........

Even though I'm still gathering information about this whole new buttocks augmentation procedure, I've decided to do it. I gave it a lot of thought and I don't want to risk coming out of surgery with a flat behind.

My derrière has always been ample and I simply cannot imagine not having at least a little something there :)!

I will keep you posted Karey, and anyone else who is interested.

Good for you!!!! You have a great and trusting relationship with your surgeon and I've no doubt he's right on this time too. You, my friend, are going to be even hotter!!!! Is your hubby going to be able to be with you for this surgery as well?

Hi Cori,

Thanks!

I won't know until closer to the time if DH will be able be there or not -- his work schedule is always very busy and unpredictable, and he also has to take a trip sometime around that time. If he can't make it, there's a service that can help me out. I would have them there to pick me up from the hospital, and if need be, stay with me at the hotel for a while. Also, I have been to the hotel so many times now that I know all the front desk staff and they would be right there if I had any problems (doubtful).

The first time I had way more surgery (including that open myomectomy, if you recall) and was up and about very quickly, so I'm not too concerned about this one.

You know me, I'll be fine and will probably be climbing the walls within a very short time!

Frangi -

I was looking into this as you were posting. I agree with your decision 100%. Look at the curves you have added to the "front" of you. I would absolutely have the same thing done if I were in your position (which I hope to be next year!). I have a flat butt to begin with and would to add a bit of life to it!! You are having surgery a day before my lapband anniversary!! Let me know if you would like me to post again for you.

Frangi: This is exciting! Can't wait to learn from you this go around. I was thinking of having my surgery in January. Right now I feel pretty crappy, still experiencing a lot of nausea and tiredness from my slip. I'm going to the doc today to see what they can do for me. The way I feel right now, I just can't imagine having more surgery, but I know my vanity will get the best of me!

Hi Jody,

Thanks for the encouragement -- it really helps make me feel better about my decision. And yes, that would be great if you could post for me again. Thanks for the offer!!!

I still cannot get over the fact that pear-shaped me of all people, is paying to have fat put back into my behind -- go figure!!!

By the way, I came across this Dr. in my searches and talk about beautiful behinds!!!! I like his informational website too. If I were still looking for a Dr., I would definitely be headed up to SC to talk to this guy. Check it out Better Buttocks Cosmetic Plastic Surgery

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
