slimmy120 2 Posted May 31, 2008 I try to eat Proteins when hungry, i tend to snack on feta cheese a small piece, or the triangle portion of the laughing cow packeted cheese ---it comes in triangle portions and is real creamy. Is the laughing cow cheese okay? calorie wise it is 42 cals per portion? I also tend to eat for Protein 30 to 40 gram portions of nuts - is this okay? Froggi 4 Posted May 31, 2008 From calorie standpoint those are decent choices. It's amazing how few almonds it takes to satisfy. And while I used to favor such cheese as Brie at a giga-calorie per serving, my current favorite is the hard dry rind of parmesan from low fat sources. It provides chewing and a decent bulkiness to satisfy the pouch and sensations of a pleasant 'fullness' without too many unnecessary calories. There are a jillion cheeses out there, and I intend to find some new favorites. A local producer makes absolutely wonderful goat cheese in a half-dozen varieties. She is a licensed dairy goat facility. While I love the flavor, every time I try it I get bowel distress for days. I like feta-stuffed greek olives for a little snack. Not bad on calories either! I prefer the jalapeno-stuff ones though, and chopped up in tuna is wonderful. Mmmm, cheese.
