Are you working out while on preop liquids?

Recommended Posts

I totally thought I'd be working out while on the preop liquids, but I can barely keep awake while sitting at my desk. I don't feel like I have anymore energy to expend.

I just completed the 2nd day. I'm EXHAUSTED. I feel like I should be working out . . . but I honestly don't know if I can at this point.

I'm on pre-op as well. I belong to curves and attempted to go twice. I could only make it around the circuit 1 time instead of 2 times. I'm not going to try it again before surgery. I got real shaky and just couldn't do it. I felt guilty but I didn't want to push it either.

I did not work out on my pre-op diet either, not enough energy. I am one week post-op now, and feel like next week I could "lightly" start back on the treadmill only or something like that.

I have one day left of this and get banded on monday. I haven't had energy to do any exercising or walking. Its all I could do to go work and sit at my desk all day. Had body ache, muscle ache, especially my lower back. Because of this I haven't slept well either. I am sooooo looking forward to getting past this stage. IMO this is the worst part. Soon we can start building our strength back and get some exercise in. Hang in there!

My husband (trying to be supportive) suggested we go to the gym this afternoon, and it's literally all I can do to not tear into the solid food for him in the house! We just got back from shopping for pre-op (started today) and the first week or so after surgery, and I just about cried walking around the store looking at all the beautiful fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, etc. I can't have. I'm better now, and I'm totally looking forward to this huge life change, but I suggest to anyone reading this to shop for your liquid diet stuff while you can still eat regular food :(

I think this is normal to feel this exhausted as your not getting the same amount of calories and carb's as your body is used to. :(

Good luck with your surgery!!!

Well, it's the end of Day 3 and I still haven't mustered the energy to workout. I did, however, photograph 20 5-year-olds yesterday and I had to lug a whole bunch of gear to a session today. It's not exercise, but it's physical work nonetheless.

I have a little bit more energy this evening, but it was a tough one. There was a wedding reception for some family members this evening and I was a guest. Everyone was eating tacos and refried Beans (street tacos, San Diego style -- they are so awesome). I survived!!!!! Barely!!!! It was kind of funny, though. They smelled WEIRD to me. Isn't that odd? The smell wasn't even enticing (thank God).

So . . . one wedding reception down with only an Atkins shake before and Water during. Not tooooo bad for a fat girl who's refusing to workout at the moment. LOL!

u know i totally understand how u feel. When i started on my pre-op i was so tired and it was like i had no energy at all... it kinda pissed me off because before i started mympr-op diet i actually worked out and I had to start back but it is hard... and i did not want to take my fat burner or adipex that controlled my hunger because i did not wnt them to x.o my sugery... But try drinking a sugar free red bull that might help.. it helped me...

Well, I never did end up getting the sugar free Red Bull. Maybe tomorrow.

But today was Day 4 and my energy seems to be coming back. It comes and goes in waves . . . so today I had a burst of energy and . . . big shock . . . I even decided to work out!!!! I know!!!!!!! LOL!!!!

I didn't do the hills I normally do (I walk my neighborhood), and I didn't take the double jogging stroller with me . . . but I did attempt to JOG! Gasp. My body hasn't seen jogging since Y2K!!! LOL! However, I had to stop very soon. Not because I was tired, but because I've lost 17 pounds and my bra was way too loose to be jogging. The dumb straps kept falling off. haha. NOT a good sight.

So, I didn't jog. I suppose I should go get a jogbra, though. LOL.

I hope I feel this good tomorrow. Just 2 more days until surgery . . . .

That is so good.... about the jogging bra.... do they really work? Are they the same as sports bras? The sports bras make it seem as if u have 1-big boob.... lol... I would love to get something that would keep the girls tamed I would love to attempt to jog but i wont because of the bra situation...

I think that JogBras and Sports Bras are the same thing . . . .but I know that JogBra is a brand name. I always just called them jog bras (sort of like I call all tissues Kleenex, even though Kleenex is a brand name).

I seriously cannot imagine jogging without one. I tried yesterday, but it just wasn't happening. Yes, they make you look like you have one wide boob, but if you get one that's tight enough, you shouldn't move around tooo much. The key is to have them pretty darn tight, but not so tight that you can't breathe.

Ok that sounds good.. I may get one and try it out again.. but i will get it a little smaller...

I didnt have to do a pre op but I tried - tried being the operative word and given that I had cold sweats and fainting by day 3, I was NOT working out.

After surgery, I returned to gentle walking on the day after surgery, but it was an easy 3kms, I didnt do anything really hard till I was well healed and back on solid foods.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
