the Protein helps to shrink the liver...atkins and slimfast shakes both have a lot of calories...they told me to stay away from them and use a high quality Protein shake like powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury...I know this helps your liver b/c I was having liver problems and all I did differantly was drink Protein Shakes mixed in Skim milk and my liver got better...not all the way better but better in about 5 weeks. Now my pre surgery diet is 40 g of Protein from a shake a day...(2 shakes) I hope that all makes sense!

You lost 15 pounds in 3 days? How are you feeling since the surgery? I am still trying to drop 10% of my body weight so I can see the DR to get the banding done.

You're doing great. I'm nearly 6 weeks and I guess it's my age but I'm still sore inside it I move certain ways, still have alot of gas and not eating much at a time.

I stopped exercising for a couple of days because my knee started to act up. And bang.....down almost 3 pounds. YAY. I'm switching to recumbent bike for a while to give my knee some rest. Treadmill is all weight bearing and I don't want to push my knee too much. The surgeon said no bike right after surgery, but I think if the tension is light it will be okay now. Going on Wed for my first fill and to ask a bunch of questions.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
